## What it is [#what-it-is]

**Discover** is a public directory where anyone, logged in or not, can browse
artists, music professionals, labels, studios, and venues on Aden. You can
search by name, filter by genre, country, or entity type, and switch between a
card grid and an interactive map.

**Hype** is a weekly chart of released tracks available for free download. Tracks
are ranked by how many times they were downloaded during the current ISO week.
Only tracks from teams with an active paid plan and with downloads explicitly
enabled appear in the chart. You can filter by genre and browse previous weeks.

**Favorites** is a personal shortcut bar inside the app. Any page in the app can
be bookmarked as a favorite. It then appears in the sidebar for one-click
access.

**Watchers** let you subscribe to a specific milestone or to-do so you get
notified when it changes.

## Using it [#using-it]

### Browsing discover [#browsing-discover]

Open `/discover` without logging in. Use the search box to find a name, or
apply the **Type**, **Genre**, and **Country** filters to narrow results.
Toggle between **Grid** and **Map** views with the buttons in the top bar.
**Display → Sort** reorders the results: **Most active** (the default),
**Newest** or **Name**.

The map view places teams and people on the globe geocoded from their city and
country. Venues with exact coordinates (latitude/longitude stored) appear at
their precise location.

### Sharing where you are [#sharing-where-you-are]

People can additionally share the **city they're currently in** so others
nearby can find them to hang out and connect. Turn on **"Show my city on
Discover"** in account settings → Public profile → "Where you are" (web), or
Profile → Account → "Where you are" (mobile app). On web the city is worked
out **automatically from your recent Aden activity**: no location permission
needed; if that city is wrong (VPN, travelling), **"Use precise location"**
asks for your GPS instead, resolved to a city on your device. The mobile app
uses the phone's GPS with native reverse geocoding. Either way only the city
and country are shared, never your exact location or coordinates. Your
discover card then shows "Currently in …" and you appear on the map at that
city. Use **"Update my location"** after travelling (one tap); turning the
toggle off removes the shared city immediately. This is off by default.

Every update is kept in your private **location history** (visible only to
you, in the same settings) so you can look back at where you've been, and
remove any entry. Discover only ever shows your latest city.

To view a specific category only, click the **Teams**, **People**, or **Orgs**
filter chip: the grid mixes all three kinds by default using round-robin
interleaving.

### Staying private [#staying-private]

Discover only lists profiles that are public, which is the default. Each kind
has its own opt-out:

* **Teams**: the public profile toggle in team settings.
* **People**: the public profile (passport) toggle in account settings.
* **Organisations**: the "Show on discover" toggle in organisation settings.
  Turning it off also removes the org's venues from the map; the `/o/<slug>`
  profile page stays reachable via its direct link.

Demo accounts never appear, whatever their public toggle says.

### Browsing hype [#browsing-hype]

Open `/hype`. The chart shows the top released tracks for the current ISO week,
sorted by download count. Click a genre badge to filter to that genre
(`/hype/[genre]`). Use the week navigation to look at previous weeks.
Download a track directly from the card if the artist has provided a download
link.

### Adding and removing favorites [#adding-and-removing-favorites]

Inside the app, navigate to any page you want to bookmark and click the
**star** icon (or the "Add to favorites" option in the sidebar). The page is
pinned to your favorites bar immediately.

To remove it, click the star again or use the "Remove from favorites" option.
You can also clear all favorites at once from your settings.
