# Close a sync deal

Record the licence window, territory and signed contract, book the fee, and keep an eye on renewals.
A card's sheet has four tabs: **Deal**, **License**, **Money** and **Activity**. Save and delete stay at the bottom on every tab.

## Record the licence [#record-the-licence]

When a card reaches Licensed or Placed:

1. Open the **License** tab.
2. Set the **License start** and **License end**, or switch on **In perpetuity (no end date)**.
3. Add the **Territory**.
4. Upload the signed contract. The artist team can open it too.

Every approved track on the card also gets its licence recorded in [Licensing](/docs/help/organisations/organisation-leads/licenses), once. Moving the card back and forward never makes a second one.

## Book the money [#book-the-money]

On the **Money** tab, book the licence fee as income, and the agent commission or clearance costs as expenses. You see the net. Each line counts in your books like any other.

Income for one track lands on that track, whoever runs the deal. The artist sees all their licence income, and it splits between the track's collaborators by their sync splits, or their publishing splits when no sync splits are set. Costs stay with whoever runs the deal.

## Watch renewals [#watch-renewals]

**Placements** lists every done deal, soonest expiry first: active, expiring soon (within 60 days), expired or perpetual. Renewals don't slip.
