# Record licences on your catalogue
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/organisations/organisation-leads/licenses

Keep every licence on your music, with the licensee, terms, fee and signed agreement, shared between artist and business.
When a filmmaker syncs a track, a brand uses it in an ad, or a publisher sub-licenses a territory, the licence needs a home. **Licensing** records who licensed what, for what use, where, for how long and for how much, with the signed agreement.

## Where to find it [#where-to-find-it]

* **An artist team** keeps licences on the work itself: a track's or album's **Licensing** tab. The tracks list shows each track's licensing state and can filter by it.
* **A business** sees and manages the licences of every team it works with under **Licensing** in its sidebar.

Both sides see the same licences. Each one is marked **Added by your business** or **Added by the team**, and both can edit it.

## Add a licence [#add-a-licence]

1. Click **New license**.
2. Pick the **Track or album** and the **Licensee**, or link one of your contacts.
3. Choose the type: licensing, sync, AI licence or other.
4. Set the territories, the start and end dates or perpetual, and whether it's exclusive.
5. Add the fee and what the licensee may do with the music.
6. Upload the signed agreement.
7. Save.

## Move it along [#move-it-along]

A licence goes from draft to negotiating to active, then expired or terminated. Notes, status changes and uploads all land on its activity log.

## Expiry reminders [#expiry-reminders]

Licences with an end date send a reminder to the team and its businesses 30, 7 and 1 day before they expire. Past their end date, they turn to expired on their own.
