# Smart paste and drop
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/more/smart-paste

Paste or drop anything onto a track, album, session, gallery or demo inbox and it lands where it belongs.
{/* Generated by `bun docs:publish` from docs/features/smart-paste.md: edit the spec, not this file. */}

## What it is [#what-it-is]

Copy something, open the page it belongs to, and paste. Or drag a file onto
the page. Aden works out what it is and puts it in the right place, so you
don't have to find the right button first.

## Using it [#using-it]

Paste anywhere on the page, outside a text field, or drop files onto it.

* **Track:** audio becomes a new version, an image becomes the cover, a
Spotify or Apple Music link of the song becomes a streaming link (several at
once work too), and any other link is added to the track's links. Any other
file (an FL Studio or Ableton project, a contract, a statement) goes to the
track's files, sorted into folders like "Project files" and "Contracts".
* **In the Aden desktop app**, a project file or a whole project folder
dropped on a track becomes the track's project files, samples included, the
same as dropping it on the notch and picking the track. Drop an MP3 and an
FLP together and the MP3 becomes a version, the FLP a project file.
* **Album:** an image becomes the cover, audio becomes new tracks on the
album, and the album's store links become its streaming links.
* **Session:** a Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, Discord, Whereby or Cal Video link
becomes the session's call, photos and videos go to its media, audio becomes
a new track on the session, and any other link is added to its links.
* **Covers, banners and media pages:** the file opens in the upload window,
ready to crop and save. This works for tracks, albums, events and tours.
* **Demo inbox:** paste one or more links and each becomes a demo to review.
