# Singing coach
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/more/singing-coach

A free singing coach on tools.aden.space/sing. Sing a song's tune (the Piano coach's songs, a MIDI file, or a sung recording) or a warm-up and see your live pitch against it on three screens, Lane, Keys and Warm-ups, moved to your range. A recording plays under you with its words, mixed against the piano. With the camera on, one short cue at a time helps with breath, chin and mouth on the high notes. Kept in the browser, apart from reading a recording's words.

## What it is [#what-it-is]

A singing coach in your browser, at `tools.aden.space/sing`. Sing along,
see your pitch against the tune. No account.

* **Three screens, one switch.** Lane: the tune scrolls past and your voice
draws a line through it; each note fills when you held it in tune and is
outlined when you didn't, with a breath mark before each phrase. Keys: the
tune falls onto the piano keys and your voice is a light sliding over
them. Warm-ups: one note of a pattern at a time with a meter for flat or
sharp, in levels from one held note to patterns that climb.
* **Songs.** The same songs as the Piano coach (Ode to Joy is built in). Add
a MIDI file, or a recording of a voice on its own (an acapella): its tune
  is found in your browser.
* **Sing with the track.** A recording you added plays under you, in the
song's key and at its speed. The speaker in the bar mixes it: Track (the
recording), Melody (the tune on the piano) and Backing (the rest of a
song's notes), heard as you move them. Wear headphones, so the mic hears
  only you.
* **The words.** A recording's words show under the tune, the line being
sung and the next one. They're read once on aden.space (the upload is
deleted within a day) and kept with the song. "Show the words" under the
  cog turns them off.
* **Your range.** "Find my range" under the cog listens while you sing low
to high. Warm-ups climb inside it, and "Key" moves a song to fit it.
* **Breath and posture.** Turn on the camera and the coach watches quietly:
shoulders rising as you breathe in, chin lifting or a small mouth on a
high note, tense shoulders. It shows one short cue at a time, never a
dashboard. The picture never leaves the browser.
