Ask a team bot to do something from any chat. It works in its own thread, and a link shows that one thread live to whoever you send it to, in Aden or on WhatsApp, Instagram and the web.

## What it is [#what-it-is]

Ask one of your team's bots to do a job from any chat, with the person you're
talking to. The bot works in a thread of its own, and you get a link to that
thread to send. Whoever opens it follows the work as it happens. Your other
threads with that bot stay private.

## How it works [#how-it-works]

* **Start it.** In Aden's chat, open a chat's menu and pick **Ask a bot…**.
  In the desktop app's Links inbox, type `/` in any chat (WhatsApp,
  Instagram, anything Beeper connects) and pick **Ask a bot…**. On the phone,
  use **Ask a bot** in the composer. ⌘K has it too.
* **Write the brief.** Pick the bot and say what it should do. The chat you
  asked from goes to the bot as context, but the link never shows it.
* **Send the link.** It lands in your message, ready to send.
* **Follow along.** In Aden (web, desktop, mobile) the link shows as a live
  card: the bot, the task, and what it's doing now. Anywhere else it opens a
  share page that updates while the bot works. With the Aden browser
  extension, links on WhatsApp Web, Instagram, Messenger and X show the same
  live card.
* **Let them reply, or not.** Turn on "People with the link can reply" to let
  others write to the bot in that thread. They need an Aden account.
* **Stop sharing.** The link button in the thread's header shows the link,
  switches replies on or off, and stops sharing. A stopped link stops working
  for everyone.
