# Peek at your project
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/more/desktop-project-peek

A global shortcut or fn opens the song behind your DAW project over the DAW, full screen. Its pages, its details and the live session's lyrics and files sit as cards around a clear middle, and files drag between them and the DAW. A small panel links an unlinked project to a track.

## What it is [#what-it-is]

Press **⌃⌥Space** (Control+Option+Space) while you work in your DAW and the
song your open project belongs to opens over the DAW, full screen included.
Its pages float as separate cards around the edges of the screen,
the middle left clear for the DAW: the overview with its versions and tasks
with the to-dos down the left, the song's own card (its name, its menu and
its details) and collaborators down the right. Each is the page you know
from Aden.

While you're in a session, its lyrics and files join along the bottom: the
session about this song, else the one going on now. Notes and people can
join too. Drag a bounce from the DAW onto the files, or a take from the
files into the DAW: the space between the cards is the DAW itself.

Drag a card by its bar and resize it from its edges; let go and it snaps
into line with the others. Remove a card with its ×, and bring any page
back with **+** on the song's card. The layout stays on your Mac, the same
for every song. Click back into your DAW, press the shortcut again, Escape
or the close button to put it away.

When the project isn't linked to a track yet, a small panel asks which track
it is: search the team's tracks, or type a name to make a new one. Its
folder is linked on the spot and the song's pages open.

The "…" menu opens the track in Aden, shows the project folder, syncs it,
invites someone, or opens the track on the web.

You can also open it from the menu bar ("Peek at Project"), or type "peek"
or "to-dos" in search. Change or turn off the shortcut in Settings, General,
Project peek. On a Mac, tapping **fn** on its own opens it too (Settings,
General, Tap fn, on by default). Set macOS's "Press 🌐 key to" to Do Nothing
so fn only opens the peek; Aden offers the button when it's set to something
else.
