# Agents use your apps
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/more/desktop-agent-desktop

Your AI agent, or Aden in a session call, reads and uses the apps on your computer, your DAW first, through agent-desktop. You allow each app in the notch, see what it does there the whole time, and stop it with one key.

## What it is [#what-it-is]

Stuck in your DAW, or can't find a setting? Your AI agent can look at the
app and do it for you. It reads the app's buttons, menus and fields, clicks
and types in them, presses shortcuts, and in apps that draw their own
controls (like FL Studio's mixer) it looks at the window and clicks a spot.

Two agents can do this:

* **Your own agent** (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) connected to Aden Desktop.
Ask it "open the mixer in FL Studio" or "where is the export setting".
* **Aden in a session call.** Press **Ask Aden** and say what you're after.
Aden looks in your DAW and does it with you, one step at a time.

## You stay in charge [#you-stay-in-charge]

* **Allow each app.** The first time an agent wants an app, the notch says
"Claude Code wants FL Studio" with **Allow** and **Deny**. Without a notch,
a dialog asks. ⌘K has Allow and Deny too.
* **Always visible.** While it works, the notch shows who and where:
"Claude Code · Clicking in FL Studio".
* **Stop any time.** Press **Stop** in the notch, ⌘⇧Esc (Ctrl+Alt+Esc on
Windows), or "stop" in ⌘K. Everything ends at once, and every app asks
  again next time.
* **Off limits.** Agents can never use Aden itself, terminals, system
settings or password managers, and never quit apps, close windows, delete
  files or switch apps.
* **Ends by itself.** After 10 minutes without anything to do, the agent
stops and has to ask again.

On a Mac, Aden needs Accessibility (System Settings, Privacy & Security).
Aden opens the page the first time an agent asks.
