# AI music rights
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/more/ai-music-rights

Declare AI use on a track for the streaming labels, reserve a catalogue against AI training, license it to AI companies on fair terms, see AI licensing income apart, and check the metadata payouts are matched on.

## What it is [#what-it-is]

Streaming services now label AI music, AI companies are licensing catalogues,
and publishers ask that the song is valued at least equally with the
recording. Aden keeps your side of that in one place:

* **AI use** on every track: no AI, AI-assisted or AI-generated, and which
parts (vocals, instrumental, lyrics, composition). Distributors read it from
  your release export.
* **AI training rights**: your music is reserved by default. Its public pages
carry a machine-readable opt-out, so AI companies that respect it ask you for
  a licence instead.
* **AI licences**: record a licence to an AI company with what it covers (past
use, training, outputs) and the song's share of the payout. Aden flags a
  song share below the recording's.
* **AI licensing income** shows apart from streams in your royalties.
* **Catalogue metadata**: one score for how much of a roster carries the ISRC,
ISWC, writer IPIs and song splits payouts are matched on.

## Using it [#using-it]

1. **Declare AI use.** Open a track → **Metadata → Details** and pick **AI
use**. For AI-assisted or AI-generated tracks, pick the parts and name the
tools. On the phone app it's the **AI use** row in the track's details.
Tracks you generate in Aden are declared AI-generated for you.
2. **Reserve or open AI training.** Team settings → **Reserve AI training
rights** sets the default for every track. A single track can choose
otherwise on its **Release** tab. An organisation can require the
reservation for every team it holds from its settings.
3. **License to an AI company.** In **Licensing**, add a licence and pick
**AI licence** as the type. Choose what it covers and enter the song's share
   of the payout.
4. **Check your catalogue.** On an organisation's **Rights & deals** page, the
**Metadata** button shows the score and what's missing.
