# Track collaborators
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/make-music/track-collaborators

Add people and whole teams to a track's credits from the "Add collaborator" panel. One search over teams, people, @slugs and emails feeds one list where teams are groups (with ft. and public credit inline) and songwriters credited under their own name sit below. A team is the default answer for anyone new, because only a team carries an artist name, and a team can be one person. Rows carry per-person splits, roles, IPI and access. An emailed songwriter can accept as themselves, join with a team they admin, or create a team first and come back. The same reusable panel powers albums, camps and session invites.

## What it is [#what-it-is]

A track's **collaborators** are the people and teams credited on it. The
**Add collaborator** panel (on a track's *Collaborators → People* tab) is where
you build that list. It opens on two tabs, **Songwriter** (a person) and
**Artist team** (a whole team), over a single search that matches by name,
email or `@team-slug`. An **Invite link** button sits beside each tab's submit
for the kind of collaborator that tab adds. Throughout, **people show
as round avatars and teams as square** so you always know which you're adding.

## Using it [#using-it]

**Invite a songwriter.** On the **Songwriter** tab, search or tap a face in the
**Recent** strip (people you've worked with) to drop them into the editor. Each
person is one row: a status icon, then **name**, **email**, **splits**,
**roles**, **IPI** and **access**. Add as many rows as you like. Press **Add**
for a blank one, then **Add collaborator** commits them all at once.

* The **status icon** tells you what happens on submit: a green ✓ badge means we
matched them to an existing Aden account; a ✉️ envelope means they're not on
Aden yet and will get an email invite from you; a plain person icon means
they'll be credited by name only (add an email to invite them). We only ever
confirm accounts you've already worked with, so nobody can fish for whether an
 arbitrary email has an account.
* **Splits** default to one % that applies to every revenue type. Tap the
**gear** (or the field, once it varies) to open a dialog and set a different %
for master, royalty, publishing, composition, mechanical and sync. Laid out
in a 3-column, 2-row grid, with an "apply to all" shortcut.
* **Roles** is a multi-select (pick suggested roles or type your own); **IPI**
is their royalty identifier; **PRO** is a searchable picker (`ProCombobox`)
prefilled with \~50 collecting societies worldwide (searchable by name or
country) that still lets you type and add a custom PRO; **Access** is Full by
default, or Restricted to hand-pick which areas of the track they can see.

**Crediting while you create a track.** The **New track** form's
*Collaborators* tab has the same **Add user or team** panel. Songwriter and
Artist team, so you can credit people and a whole team's artists before the
track exists. Because there is no track to link yet, an artist team is credited
through **its artists** (an off-Aden team is credited by name); link the team
row itself from the track's *Collaborators* page once the track is created.

**Add an artist team.** On the **Artist team** tab, search or tap a team in the
**Recent** strip. Credit them as a **Collaboration** or toggle **Feature (ft.)**,
and choose whether to **Show in credits** (public). Teams you haven't worked
with can be added by `@team-slug`.

**Credit the team's artists.** When you pick a team, even one you're not on,
the editor auto-fills that team's **artists** as rows (every member when the
team flags no artists) so you can credit them (and tune their splits/roles)
right away. You're never blocked from adding the
headline act. If you're an admin of that team the link confirms instantly and
you can add *any* member; otherwise the team gets an invite to confirm the link,
and the artists you picked stay credited regardless.

**Add a team that isn't on Aden yet.** Tick *"This team isn't on Aden yet"* and
type their name. They're credited on the track immediately, any member rows you
filled in are added as collaborators, and you can share an invite link so they
can join and claim the team.
*Email invite* under the link mails it to everyone filed under the team, with
or without an Aden account. The team menu's *Resend invites* does the same.

**Invite link.** The button beside *Add songwriter* makes a person link, the
one beside *Add team* a team link, each with a QR code. Anyone who opens it can
register or sign in and join the track, no seat picked in advance.

**Quick entry points.** The People tab keeps its toolbar at the very top
refresh, **Split evenly** and **Add user or team** sit together next to the
page description. When the track has no people at all a single **Add
collaborator** call-to-action replaces the empty splits editor. Splits are
optional up front: the "splits don't add up to 100%" warning only appears once
someone has actually entered a split.

**Compact layout.** Teams render as a grid of small collapsible cards
(not-on-Aden and hidden-from-credits states are icons with tooltips), there is
no separate *Writers* section. Every person lives in a collaborator card
below, and each card starts collapsed, expanding to its roles and split
fields.

**Notes.** An expanded card has a **Notes** box for anything specific to that
writer on this track: deal terms, session details, who to chase. It saves when
you click away. Anyone who can edit the writer can edit the notes; everyone else
with access to the track reads them.
