iCloud is not a connected cloud source like Dropbox or Drive, because Apple exposes no API for it. On the desktop app it is a folder on disk, so team sync can point at it, and the app downloads iCloud placeholder files before touching them.

## Using iCloud with Aden [#using-icloud-with-aden]

iCloud cannot be connected on the web the way Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive
and Box can: Apple provides no way for other apps to read your iCloud Drive.

On the **desktop app** it works, because there iCloud Drive is just a folder.
In the sync setup, choose **Use my iCloud Drive** and Aden syncs into it like
any other folder. Files you have kept in the cloud to save space are
downloaded automatically before Aden reads them, so nothing arrives empty. A
file that will not download is skipped rather than uploaded broken.
