## What it is [#what-it-is]

Connect a cloud drive once, point Aden at a folder, and it brings the music
inside it into your catalogue, not as a pile of loose files, but as the
releases, tracks and versions the folder already describes.

Four accounts work the same way: **Dropbox**, **Google Drive**, **OneDrive**
and **Box**.

Aden reads the structure you already work in:

* A folder holding several tracks becomes a **release**, named after the folder.
* Numbered filenames (`01 - Midnight.wav`) set the **track order**.
* Files that differ only by a suffix, `Midnight.wav`,
  `Midnight (Extended Mix).wav`, `Midnight_master.wav`: land as **versions of
  one track** instead of three separate tracks.
* A `cover.jpg` or the single image in a release folder becomes the **artwork**.

Files transfer server-side, straight from the drive into Aden's storage. Your
browser never downloads or re-uploads them, so a folder of 2 GB masters
imports the same way a folder of mp3s does.

## Using it [#using-it]

1. Go to **Import** in your team, open the **Files** tab and pick your drive.
2. Your clouds sit above the tabs as one group: an icon per connected
   account, then a **+** to add another. Pick a cloud there, approve the
   read-only access Aden asks for, and come back. Aden can read your files and
   folders; it never writes to them.
3. Choose **Browse**, then tick the files you want or a whole folder. Ticking
   a folder takes everything audio under it, however deep, whether or not you
   opened it. Search finds a folder without opening six of them.
4. Review what Aden proposes. Releases, tracks, versions, file sizes. Edit the
   title, artists, genres, tags, status and visibility inline. Files you have
   already imported are recognised and unticked for you.
5. Choose **Import**. Progress rides the app's upload panel, so you can keep
   working on the page while it runs.

Imported tracks arrive as private ideas, so nothing goes public by accident.

### Re-running an import [#re-running-an-import]

Scanning the same folder again is safe. Aden recognises files it has already
brought over, by content, so a rename or a move doesn't fool it, and leaves
them unticked. Add a new master to the folder, re-scan, and only the new file
is offered.

### Disconnecting [#disconnecting]

Disconnecting a drive from its icon above the tabs stops future imports.
Tracks you already imported keep working: their files live in Aden's own
storage, not in the drive.
