# Upload pictures and videos in original quality
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/get-started/upload-quality

Aden uploads a smaller copy of your pictures and videos, and stems as lossless FLAC. Keep the original for one file, or for everything.
When you add cover art, a banner, a profile picture or a photo, Aden makes a smaller copy on your device and uploads that. Pictures keep 3000 pixels on their longest side, the size stores ask for, and media videos go up at 1080p. Pictures in **Documents** shrink the same way and keep their format. It saves your storage and uploads faster.

Stems you upload, record or split go up as FLAC when they are a WAV: the exact same audio, about half the size. Your songs and versions always upload exactly as they are.

## See which files were made smaller [#see-which-files-were-made-smaller]

In **Documents** and in **Plan**, **Usage**, a file made smaller shows a small mark before its size. Hover it to see the size the file had.

## Keep the original for one file [#keep-the-original-for-one-file]

1. Pick the file. Its row shows the size it uploads at, like **39.29 MB → 1.8 MB**.
2. Press **…** on the row.
3. Choose **Upload the original**.
4. Press **Upload**.

## Always upload in original quality [#always-upload-in-original-quality]

1. Open **Account**, then **Privacy**.
2. Under **Uploads**, switch on **Original quality**.

With it on, stems stay WAV too.

You can also press **…** on a picked file and choose **Always upload original quality**, or search for **Original quality uploads**. The setting follows your account to every browser and the desktop app.

<Callout>
 A file that a smaller copy wouldn't make at least 10% lighter always uploads
 as it is.
