# Make files smaller

Shrink a video to send or post, compress photos and cover art, or turn a WAV into an MP3, in your browser.
The [File compressor](https://tools.aden.space/compress) makes videos, pictures and songs smaller. Free, no account needed, and your files never leave your computer.

## Compress files [#compress-files]

1. Open the [File compressor](https://tools.aden.space/compress).
2. Drop your files on the page, or press **Choose files**.
3. Pick how small:
   * **Smallest**: videos at 720p, pictures up to 1600 pixels on their longest side, songs as 128 kbps MP3s.
   * **Balanced**: videos up to 1080p, pictures up to 2560 pixels on their longest side, songs as 192 kbps MP3s.
   * **Best quality**: videos and pictures keep their size, songs become 256 kbps MP3s.
4. Each row shows the size before and after, and how much smaller it got.
5. Press the download button on a row, or **Download all** to get every file in one zip.

Videos come out as MP4, songs as MP3, and pictures keep their format.
