# Check if an email address works
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/free-tools/email-checker

See which addresses can receive mail before you send a campaign or a pitch, and fix the typos.
The [email checker](https://tools.aden.space/email) tells you whether an address can receive mail. Free, no account needed, up to 1,000 addresses at a time.

## Check addresses [#check-addresses]

1. Open the [email checker](https://tools.aden.space/email).
2. Paste one or more addresses, one per line or separated by commas.
3. Press **Check**.
4. Each address gets a verdict:
 * **Valid**: the domain takes email.
 * **Risky**: probably a typo, or a throwaway inbox that stops working within hours.
 * **Invalid**: mail can't arrive, because the address is written wrong or the domain takes no email.
 * **Unknown**: the domain's mail servers didn't answer. Check again in a minute.
5. Press **Copy valid addresses** to take the good ones with you.

<Callout>
 A valid result means the domain takes email. It can't promise the person reads that inbox.
</Callout>

## In Aden [#in-aden]

The same check runs inside Aden:

* **Campaigns**: next to your recipients, **N won't arrive** lists the addresses that can't get your email, with a fix for typos. Aden skips them when it sends, and they count as skipped.
* **Contacts**: importing a list shows the same button before you import.
* **Your public forms**: fan signups, booking requests, camp signups and demo inboxes suggest a fix when someone mistypes their address, like **Did you mean [name@gmail.com](mailto:name@gmail.com)?**
