# Turn a vocal into a crowd or a choir
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/free-tools/choir

Drop a vocal and hear 50 people sing it with you, or a choir of your own voice in harmony. Or play a choir from your keys.
The [Choir](https://tools.aden.space/choir) turns one vocal into a crowd or a choir of your own voice, and sings whatever you play on its keys. It runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

## Play the choir [#play-the-choir]

1. Open the [Choir](https://tools.aden.space/choir).
2. Play the keys on screen, or the row from **A** to **K** on your keyboard.
3. Pick a harmony, like **Triads** or **Ninths**, and your song's key at the top.

## Turn a vocal into a crowd [#turn-a-vocal-into-a-crowd]

1. Drop a vocal on the choir, or press the file button at the top right. A dry acapella, with no reverb or music behind it, sounds best.
2. Press play. A crowd of 50 people sings it with you, some an octave away, like a mixed crowd. It shouts along to words with no tune too.
3. Press the wand button for the vocal chain. Turn **People** for a smaller group, down to 2, or pick **Gang shout** for a group shouting it.

## Make it a choir instead [#make-it-a-choir-instead]

1. Press the wand button and switch from **Crowd** to **Choir**.
2. A section sings your melody with you and the rest sing the harmony under it, in your key.
3. Pick a style, like **Gospel choir**, **Pop stack** or **Angelic**, and a harmony at the top.

## Shape the sound [#shape-the-sound]

| Row | Dials |
| ------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Levels | **Vocal** is your take, **Voices** the crowd or choir, **Keys** the choir you play from the keys, singing along. |
| Voices | **People** (crowd) or **Singers** (choir) sets how many, **Width** how wide they stand, **Formant** how big their voices sound, **Tune** how hard your lead snaps to the key. |
| Chain | **De-ess**, **Drive**, **Compress**, **Delay** and **Reverb**. |

## Download it [#download-it]

Press **WAV** to download the mix. Its menu has **Voices only**, to lay under your original vocal in your DAW, and **Choir only**. Each lines up with your vocal from the first sample.
