# Make a moodboard on the canvas

A free board for a song's ideas. Draw, write, drop images and play music links on it.
The [Canvas](https://canvas.aden.space) is a free board for a song or a release. Free, no account needed.

## Build the board [#build-the-board]

1. Open [canvas.aden.space](https://canvas.aden.space).
2. Draw, add shapes, arrows and sticky text from the toolbar.
3. Copy any image and press ⌘V (Ctrl+V), or drag it onto the board.
4. Paste a Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, Deezer or YouTube link. It becomes a player you can press play on.
5. Paste any other link to show the page on the board.
6. Drop or paste an audio file. It becomes a card you can play, with notes pinned to moments in the song. Press **Bring into Aden** on the card to make it a track, notes included.

The board stays in your browser, songs included, so it is still there when you come back. Nothing is uploaded.

## Keep more than one board [#keep-more-than-one-board]

1. Press the board's name next to **Canvas**.
2. Choose **New board** to start another, or pick one from the list to switch to it. Type to search them.
3. Type a new name in the box at the top to rename the board you're on.
4. Point at a board and press the bin to delete it. **Undo** in the message brings it back.

All your boards stay in this browser. Another browser or computer starts empty, so save a board as a file to take it with you.

Press the fullscreen button next to **Save** to give the board the whole screen. Press it again, or Esc, to go back.

## Save it and open it again [#save-it-and-open-it-again]

1. Press **Save** to download it as a canvas file.
2. Press **Open** and pick the file to bring it back, on any computer, or drop the file on the board.
3. With Aden desktop installed, double-click the file to open the board in Aden. Your changes save back to the file.

Opening a file replaces the board. **Undo** in the message brings the old one back.

## Work on it with your team [#work-on-it-with-your-team]

Drawing together needs an Aden account. **Multiplayer** on the canvas takes you there.

Open the canvas file on a track's, album's or team's **Inspiration** canvas, or on a studio session's ideas board. Choose **...**, then **Open canvas file**. There everyone works on it together, live.

Audio cards stay on the free canvas. Bring each song into Aden from its card first.
