# Royalty periods

For labels: turn a quarter's sales into a statement for every artist, and record when you paid them.
A royalty period is one accounting cycle, such as a quarter. Put that cycle's sales files in it, and Aden works out what each artist is owed from your deal terms, takes advances and costs off the balance, and publishes a statement to every artist team. Artists read their statements in Aden, and you record when you paid them.

Business owners and admins run periods from **Royalties** in the business sidebar.
