# Build deal models

Set up a royalty split once, with rules by territory, sale type or store, and apply it across your roster.
A deal model is a royalty split you build once and reuse. Change it in one place and every artist on it follows.

Business owners and admins only.

## Build a model [#build-a-model]

1. Open **Royalties** and press **Deal models**.
2. Set a base rate.
3. Add rules: when the territory, sale type or store matches, pay a percentage of net or gross.
4. Refine a rule with nested branches. For example: worldwide pays 50% of net, but neighbouring rights pay nothing.
5. Watch the preview show what a sample line pays as you edit.

## Attach it [#attach-it]

Attach a model to an artist team, an album or a single track. When a royalty period is calculated, the most specific one wins: a track's model beats its album's, and an album's beats the team's.
