# Verify your identity

Upload a photo of your national ID or passport so the Aden team can verify your account.
Some parts of Aden ask for a verified identity. You upload your document once, and the Aden team checks it.

## Before you start [#before-you-start]

* Turn on two-factor authentication and verify it for this session. The upload stays locked without it.
* Have your national ID (front and back) or your passport (front only) at hand.

## Upload your document [#upload-your-document]

1. Open your account and find **Identity documents**, under identity and personal info.
2. Choose **National ID** or **Passport**.
3. Upload photos, take them with **Use webcam**, or scan the code to continue on your phone. The phone link works once and expires after 15 minutes.
4. Submit.

Your status moves from pending to verified, or to rejected with a note on what to fix.
