# Log income and expenses
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/business/financials/log-income-and-expenses

Record money in and out on a track, an album or your team, and split it between collaborators.
Keep a running record of what each release earns and costs, so you always know where you stand.

## Add an entry [#add-an-entry]

1. Open a track, an album or your team, and go to **Financials**.
2. Open **Income & expenses**.
3. Add an income or expense entry: pick a category (streaming revenue, sync licence, studio costs and so on), enter the amount and currency, and add a date and a note if you like.
4. On a track whose collaborators have split percentages, use the default splits to share the amount between them automatically.
5. Save.

Use the team's Financials for money that isn't tied to one release, such as a retainer or a studio subscription.

## Attach a document [#attach-a-document]

After saving an entry, attach a PDF or an image to it: an invoice scan, a bank statement, a receipt. Only your team members can open it.

## Plan what repeats [#plan-what-repeats]

For money that comes back on a schedule, such as monthly studio rent or a quarterly advance:

1. Open your team's **Financials** and go to **Recurring**.
2. Add the cost or income with its amount and how often it repeats.

Recurring entries feed your forecast. They don't add a dated entry by themselves each time.

## Change the chart style [#change-the-chart-style]

Charts in Aden draw in a dotted, retro style. Right-click a chart and pick **Classic** for plain bars, or **Dither** to go back. Every chart that offers both follows your choice on this device.
