# Compose contracts as a business

Write contracts from templates on your own letterhead, record paper signatures and share contracts with colleagues.
Labels, publishers and agencies keep every contract with their teams and writers on their own **Contracts** page.

## Compose a contract [#compose-a-contract]

1. Open your business and go to **Contracts**.
2. Press **Compose contract**.
3. Choose the team or writer, set the dates and fill in the key terms: royalty and publishing splits, plus anything else such as an advance or a territory.
4. Write the contract text, or start from a template.
5. Aden makes a clean PDF on your letterhead, with your logo and legal details and no Aden branding. Send it for signature as usual.

In a template, put a field name in double curly braces, such as the counterparty name or a key term, and it's filled in for each contract. Save any draft as a template with **Save as template**.

Already have a signed file? Upload it from **New contract** instead.

## Record a contract signed elsewhere [#record-a-contract-signed-elsewhere]

Signed on paper or in another tool? On the team's contracts, press **Mark as signed** on the contract. It's recorded as signed and active. **Mark as unsigned** turns it back into a draft. Signatures collected in Aden stay untouched.

## Read and share a contract [#read-and-share-a-contract]

Each contract is one row with its name, version and date. A status shows only while it still needs something, like 1 of 2 signed, or once it ended. Open a row to see its documents, signers and actions. **Copy link** gives a colleague a link to that contract; they still need access to your business.

## End a contract with a team [#end-a-contract-with-a-team]

Use the menu beside **New contract**. Aden first shows what changes: who loses access, how many tracks leave and how many contracts end.

Teams see the contracts you raised with them on their own **Contracts** page.
