# Customize the bar at the bottom of your phone

Pin the tabs you use most to the floating bar, put them in your order, and open the rest from Search.
The bar at the bottom of the app floats over the screen: a pill with your pinned tabs and the **+** button, and a round **Search** button at the right. New accounts start with **Home**, **Music** and **Chat**.

## Get around [#get-around]

1. Tap a tab in the pill to open it, or slide a finger along the pill and let go on the one you want.
2. Tap **+** to create something new. Hold it to start recording a new track right away.
3. Tap the round **Search** button to find anything, including the tabs that are not in the pill.

## Pin a tab [#pin-a-tab]

1. Drag the pill up, or hold any tab in it. The customize panel opens.
2. Tap a row to pin it to the bar. The pill holds five tabs at most, and always keeps one.
3. Tap a pinned row to take it out again.
4. Tap outside the panel, or drag its handle down, to close it.

You can also type **Customize the bar** into Search to open the panel.

## Change the order [#change-the-order]

1. Open the customize panel.
2. Hold a row until it lifts, then drag it up or down.
3. Let go. The pill follows the new order.

Your bar is saved to your account, so your phone and tablet show the same one.

  While a track plays, the small player floats just above the pill. On the track's own page the bar and the small player step aside, because the page has its own controls.
