# Fix plugins that won't load
Source: https://docs.aden.space/docs/help/apps/desktop/fix-plugins

See every plugin on your Mac by maker, with versions, what runs on Apple silicon, and fix the ones your DAW can't open.
The Plugins page lists every plugin installed on your Mac. The **Table** view groups them by maker, with each plugin's formats, version and status. The **Cards** view groups them by status: **Won't load**, **Intel only** and **Apple silicon**.

## Open the Plugins page [#open-the-plugins-page]

1. Press ⌘K and type **plugins**.
2. Pick **Plugins**. When something is broken, **Fix N plugins** shows too and opens the same page.

You can pin **Plugins** to the rail from the rail's pin picker.

## Find a plugin [#find-a-plugin]

* Type a plugin or maker in **Search plugins or makers**.
* Use **Status** to show only plugins that won't load, are Intel only or run on Apple silicon.
* Use **Format** to show only AU, VST, VST3, CLAP or AAX.
* Click a maker or group name to fold it away.
* Switch between **Table** and **Cards** at the top right.
* Installed or removed a plugin? Click **Rescan**, or type **rescan plugins** in ⌘K.

## Fix a plugin that won't load [#fix-a-plugin-that-wont-load]

Each plugin that won't load says what is wrong:

* **Blocked by macOS**: it was downloaded and copied in by hand, and macOS won't open it.
* **Not signed**: it has no signature, which Apple silicon Macs refuse.

1. Hover the **i** to see what Fix will change, including the exact commands.
2. Click **Fix**. Plugins in your Mac's main plugin folders ask for your Mac password.
3. Rescan plugins in your DAW.

**Fix all** fixes every plugin in the group at once. To see a plugin's files, open its **…** menu.

<Callout>
 Fix never replaces a signature a plugin already has. A plugin that still won't load needs a fresh install from its maker.
</Callout>

## Update plugins built for Intel [#update-plugins-built-for-intel]

The line under **Plugins** says how many plugins still need Rosetta, with a bar of how many already run on Apple silicon. Click **Show them** to list only those. Once it says **Ready to leave Rosetta**, every plugin runs natively.

Plugins marked **Intel only** run only through Rosetta. Hover one and click **Find update**, or pick **Find a native update** in its **…** menu, to search for a version made for Apple silicon.

## Ask your AI assistant [#ask-your-ai-assistant]

With [Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or Grok connected to the desktop app](/docs/help/apps/mcp-apps/desktop-agents), ask it things like "Which of my plugins won't load?" or "Find updates for my Intel plugins". It sees the same list as this page. Before it fixes anything, Aden shows who is asking and which plugins, and nothing changes until you click **Fix**.

Mac only.
