Make your whole screen retro
Dress your whole screen as an 80s, 90s or 2000s computer while you keep working, and record it with any screen recorder.
In the desktop app, your whole screen can look like an old computer while you keep working in your DAW: an 80s terminal, a 90s PC or a 2000s monitor, with scanlines, a curved glow and a Start bar showing the project you have open. Clicks and keys still go to your apps, and anything that records your screen records the retro look too.
Turn it on
- Press ⌘K and search for "retro" or the era you want.
- Pick Show 80s screen, Show 90s screen or Show 2000s screen.
It covers the screen your pointer is on. You can also right-click the Aden icon in the menu bar and pick Retro Screen, which brings back the era you used last.
Change how it looks
The retro screen wears the look you set for that era in the meters' Studio: the case colour, the scanlines, the green or amber glow, the Start bar and the badge with your own name and logo.
- Open the meters and switch to Studio.
- Pick the era as the look and change its options.
- The retro screen changes with you.
Stickers, photos and videos on your screen
The stickers, photos and videos you put on the Studio's picture float over your real screen too. Film your screen with your phone and they are all there, no recording needed.
- In the Studio, add stickers, photos or videos and place them.
- Press … and pick On screen.
- Turn on Show on my screen.
Pick Clean to keep your screen as it is, with only your stickers, photos and videos on top. Pick an era to put the old computer around them. Arrange in Studio takes you back to move them.
Turn it off
Press ⌘K and pick Hide retro screen, or untick Retro Screen in the menu bar icon's menu. If you quit Aden with it on, it comes back the next time Aden starts.
